Have you heard the news?
Stampin’ Up! has revamped their Classic Ink Pads! This is 1 make over that you will just love!
Now the ink pads are made with a firm foam pad instead of felt. The firm foam will give you better ink coverage for your stamps (especially on bold images and background stamps). The Firm Foam releases more ink onto your rubber stamp than the felt pads. When using the Firm Foam pad, your stamp will get an even, solid covering of ink that you may not have been able to achieve with the felt pads. Thus I have found that you don’t need to press as hard on the ink pad when you are stamping. I would suggest practicing on some scrap paper until you get the “feel” for it.
Check out this card we made last week at the INKcredible Impressions shoebox swap using the Sunflower background stamp. In the past I would use a brayer to get good ink coverage on this stamp – but now with the new firm foam ink pads getting good coverage on this stamp is super easy! I really couldn’t believe how easy it was!
I’m telling you, the stamped images look almost printed with these new ink pads! I am loving them!!
The new Firm Foam Ink Pads use the same patented flip-top case design that stores the inking surface upside down, so the pad surface stays moist! And now they come with color name labels in four languages (English, Spanish, French, and German)--just choose your language, peel it off the back, and add it to the side of the pad for easy identification! So when your ink pads are stacked you don’t have to guess which color is which – love it!
Take a look at my latest YouTube video showing the features of the new Firm Foam Ink Pads.
Oh, and FYI -- five ink colors have undergone formula changes to improve functionality and color stability with the new firm foam pads. These colors are:
- Basic Black
- Basic Gray
- Marina Mist
- Perfect Plum
- Tempting Turquoise
Since these colors had a formulation change, Stampin’ Up! does not recommend using the old ink formula for these five colors in the new firm foam pads.
