A couple days ago I started my series on the 2013 Stampin’ Up! Annual Convention (click here for Part 1). Today I am going to share about the Convention theme and opening session. Thursday night was the opening General Session.
Here is the line waiting to get into the General Session.
While we were waiting to the session to begin there was fun music playing, card swapping, laughing, and so much excitement in the room – wondering what was going to happen.
Then the curtain drops and the Convention theme song starts! It was Ryan Innes from "The Voice" singing our convention theme song! How cool is that!
After the song Shelli Gardner came on main stage. She spoke about the theme: Be the Difference” and about how we can all make a difference big or small. She shared how Stampin’ Up! makes a difference thru various company community service projects as well as how demonstrators make a difference thru their own community service projects such as volunteering at Ronald McDonald House and organizing card drives.
Then the moment we were all waiting for……the reveal of our Convention bags! Getting your Convention bag is a big deal. Every year the bag is different and the bag is not revealed until Convention. Generally you get your bag when you check in but this year, for the 25th Anniversary, Stampin’ Up! waited until the opening session and everyone got their bag at the same time!
And of course there was Prize Patrol! I won!!
After the General Session we went to our INKcredible Impressions Card Swap. We had about 20 ladies from our group swapping cards!
Then we headed over to the Opening Night Expo. There were displays, karaoke, demonstrations, and an attempt to set a new Guinness Book of World Records for the most greeting cards sent from a single location at 1 time!
Whew! What a busy and fun day! My next post will be about projects and swaps from the Convention – stay tuned!
