Valentine’s Day is just over a month away! Today I have a great little Valentine card to share with you featuring pretty much all new products from the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog. Let’s take a look at the card and then I’ll tell you all about it!
What do you think of this color combination? Not really what I would typically lean towards for Valentine’s Day. My inspiration came from the Stampin’ Up! color coach. This is a great little tool. Whenever I’m stuck on color combination ideas I go to the color coach. It has a big swatch of each color and on the reverse side there are 2 color combination suggestions. The colors I used for this card are:
Riding Hood Red
The embellishment cluster included a trimmed tea lace paper doily (p.5 Spring Catalog). I used the Big Shot and brand new Honeycomb Embossing Folder (p. 6 Spring Catalog) on the Riding Hood Red card stock. The More Mustard card stock was die cut using the Big Shot and 1 of the Adorning Accents Edgelits. After I adhered these items to the card base I wrapped some Wisteria Wonder Baker’s Twine around the card.
The last embellishment layer includes the adorable punched butterfly and ticket. The butterfly was punched out of Perfect Plum card stock using the new Bitty Butterfly punch. On top of the butterfly is a little punched flower (Itty Bitty Punch Pack) and Basic Rhinestone. The ticket is from the brand new That’s the Ticket stamp set (available wood mount and clear mount, p. 21 Spring Catalog) and is stamped in More Mustard. The ticket stamp also coordinates with the ticket duo punch. Both the butterfly and ticket are attached to the card using Stampin’ Diminsionals.
