Wow! What a day! The day started with the opening General Session and a really great keynote speaker: Jason Dorsey who spoke about generational differences. It was very enlightening and informative!
After opening session we went to the Make & Take session and worked on some super cute card projects! The projects came in these neat kraft paper project bags.
In the afternoon I took 2 classes:
- I am open for business taught by Carrie Cudney
- I am a first time recruiter taught by Jill Leigh and a panel of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators
Both of these classes were very informative and I got some great tips! One tip that I found very helpful during the recruiting class was about a training program offered by Stampin’ Up! called recruit crew. I am really looking forward to looking into this program!
But the most exciting news and best part of my day came right before my afternoon classes. Stampin’ Up! had a contest this past week on Twitter. All you had to do was Tweet the reason why you would love to get a back stage pass to the closing general session at Convention. Five people would be choosen to win the backstage pass. OK, let me take a minute to explain – general session is like a realy big deal. It is hard to put into words how cool this prize would be – to go backstage, see what they do, maybe meet Shelli Gardner (the co-founder of Stampin’ Up!) So I thought hey, what do I have to loose, I’ll send the Tweet. Well, this afternoon, when I was walking into the I am open for business class – I got the Tweet that I was 1 of the 5 winners!!! I am sooooo excited! I can’t wait to tell you guys all about it! Are you on Twitter? You can follow me on Twitter at: http://www.twitter.com/jlambstamps
Tonight was Awards Night. During the ceremony we found out that the weekend getaway incentive trip is to San Diego! They did not reveal where the grand vacation incentive trip will be. Hopefully we will find out tomorrow! After the Awards Night, there was an after party with some light refreshements and a DJ. We had a lot of fun!
Day 3 will bring more classes and I am hoping to check out MDS2 – we got a sneak peak today during 1 of the general sessions and some really neat changes are coming our way – oh,oh, oh – almost forgot – MDS 2 will be available August1!! You guys are going to LOVE the changes!
Next week I'll post detailed photos of the make and takes and swaps I've recieved during Convention. But while I am here I am posting to Facebook and Twitter multiple times throughout the day. Click here to Like me on Facebook and click here to follow me on Twitter.
