A few weeks ago I shared with you the pirate party invitations I made for my son’s birthday party. They were a message in a bottle. You can check them out by clicking here.
The pirate party was this past weekend. So I thought I would share with you the party decorations! I got some of these ideas from Pinterest and put my own spin on them. (BTW I love Pinterest! Don't you? Be sure to follow my boards by clicking here)
When the young buccaneers arrived, they were greeted at a welcome table with some directions to put on a pirate eye patch, mustache, earring, and necklace. My son made that Lego display for the table.
After they got their pirate gear on they headed over for the snacks! Hey, what’s a party without snacks right? I gave everything a pirate friendly name and decorated the table with a pirate map, sea shells, and pirate gold coins. But the centerpiece was the shark salad!
Once everyone arrived and had some snacks, the young pirates went on a treasure hunt which included walking over a plank! My brother made this for me – thanks Steve!
Of course the final stop on the treasure hunt was the treasure chest! I was hoping to get a better picture of it for you filled with the treasure (the goody bags). My husband put it out before I could get the pic. But here is a picture while some of the kids were getting their loot!
To make the treasure chest we spray painted one of those white styrofoam coolers and put it on a big X marks the spot! The young buccaneers had a great time at the party!
If you like any of the decorations be sure to pin them to Pinterest and feel free to leave a comment below!

Thanks Andrea! The kids had a blast! I'd love to see your pages -- are you going to the crop in August?
