Last week I shared a great home décor project using Décor Elements and I have been anxious to put my own twist on that project. A friend gave me a couple scrapbook frames so I decided to use that 12x12 frame to create my project along with the Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper and Quick Accents as well as Inspiration Décor Element.
What do you think of this altered frame? I am really happy with how it came out.
This project is super easy to assemble. I think the hardest part was deciding which family Christmas photo to use!
By using a 12x12 frame I basically created a simple 12x12 scrapbook layout but instead of putting the title on the actual layout, I used the Décor Elements on the glass of the frame which gives the project a shadow box effect.
To create this family photo home décor project you will need the following supplies:
- 12x12 frame
- Letters to Santa DSP and Quick Accents
- Chocolate Chip and Cherry Cobbler card stock
- Inspiration Decor Elements
- Baker’s twine
- Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch
Keep in mind you don’t want to use 3D embellishments on the actual layout. If you do then you won’t be able to put the layout back on the frame. You want the layout pretty flat. If you use a shadow box then 3D embellishments will not be an issue. For a cool, unexpected twist, you may want to consider adding your embellishments to the outside of the glass.
This would be a great gift for your significant other, grandparent, or friend. Who will you make this frame for? Leave a comment below and let me know.
